Selection Process:

The Fabien is primarily a merit-based scholarship, with approximately three scholarships awarded per application period. Other factors that may affect final awards and their amounts could include: applicants' financial need as reported by the Office of Financial Aid, the cost of the proposed program relative to available funding, the size of the application pool, and efforts to equitably distribute awards across the language areas.

By submitting an application, applicants authorize the Rene Fabien Scholarship Committee to request information from JCU's Office of Financial Aid related to financial need, and to view students' degree evaluations as part of the selection process.

The Selection Committee

Please provide a recommendation that addresses the student's academic ability, maturity, ability to work with others, intellectual curiosity, and adaptability to new situations.
