Madeline SmanikJCU Class of 2016 Madeline Smanik has been named as this year's NBC / ¾ÅŠćÖ±²„ ā€œMeet the Pressā€ Fellowship recipient. Smanik is a member of the Class of 2016. Smanik majored in both Communications and Political Science. She has served as the campus editor for the Universityā€™s student-run newspaper, The Carroll News, and held internships at Cleveland Magazine, WKYC-TV 3 (NBC), and Wingspan Care Group. The NBC/¾ÅŠćÖ±²„ ā€œMeet the Pressā€ Fellowship was created in 2009 in memory of the Sunday morning programā€™s legendary host, Tim Russert, a 1972 graduate of ¾ÅŠćÖ±²„. It is awarded annually to a ¾ÅŠćÖ±²„ graduating senior who plans to pursue a career in political journalism. The Fellowship is a nine-month position at NBCā€™s ā€œMeet the Press.ā€ The fellowship affords a ¾ÅŠćÖ±²„ graduate the opportunity to gain experience in the research and production of the weekly political talk show under the direction of the programā€™s executive producer.
