Philosophy Minor

A philosophy minor complements other areas of study that raise questions about values or methodology, including law, business, education, and the sciences. Students can fulfill a minor with six philosophy courses (just four courses beyond the core curriculum requirements).

Courses

As a philosophy minor, you’ll take six philosophy courses (four courses beyond the Core Curriculum requirements):

18 credit hours (12 beyond Core requirements)

  • PL 300
  • PL 450
  • One Knowledge and Reality course
  • One Values and Society course
  • Two electives

Students electing to pursue a specialized minor should choose their courses from within one of the four curricular options described under the Recommended Options section in the Philosophy major requirements.
